Sunburn is a common occurrence if one spends too much time in the sun. People go to the beaches to get sunburn and have a tan. Too much of it can cause discomfort. Mild sunburn results in minor skin redness and irritation. If untreated and too much exposure, one can experience poor circulation to vital organs and even death (sun poisoning).
Black tea compress is also a simple and effective remedy for treating sunburn. Black tea has antibacterial properties so that it helps to protect the skin from harmful bacteria. Two cups of black tea should be brewed using tea bags or loose leaf tea. A clean and well sterilized cloth or cotton gauze should be immersed in it and when cooled should be applied on the sunburn spot for about 20 minutes.
Vinegar is another very effective way to sooth and relieve the painful affects of a sunburn. However it does not dry as quickly as rubbing alcohol, so there are a couple of different applications. You can dab vinegar onto the skin, but this may take a while to get all of the effected area. An easier way to get a larger area is to use a spray bottle or soak a towel in vinegar and drape on the sunburned areas.
If you have suffered sunburn on any part of your face, then place a slice of tomato over that part. Tomato has a lot of water content and will have soothing effect on the sunburned skin.
Many people get relief from burns by rubbing a fresh piece of aloe vera plant on their burn. Once your burn starts to heal, you can speed up the healing process by breaking open a vitamin E capsule and rubbing it on your burn.
