Tips for Sugaring Hair Removal

By Arnold Davies Blog at 2011-02-17 03:16:13
Sugaring hair removal is a very popular, economical, safe, and convenient method of hair removal. Using natural ingredients sugaring hair removal is generally more kind to the skin.

However, each individual is different when it comes to hair texture, rate of growth, etc. so experimentation is needed to see if sugaring hair removal is a viable method for you.

Some prefer sugaring hair removal over waxing as it is kinder to the skin whereas waxing preparations often contain harsher chemicals. Sugar paste is easily cleaned up with water whereas wax can be more messy as it has a petroleum base.

The paste can easily remove large amounts of hair so the body is done faster. If you miss some hair, sugaring can be done over the worked area because it is gentle on the skin unlike chemically prepared creams and hot wax. If preparing the mixture is troublesome for you, you can purchase kits for a home treatment.

It doesn't hurt as much. Sugaring adheres itself only to the hair when applied, therefore generally is less painful than waxing. Body wax adheres itself to the hair and skin which explains why waxing can be a more painful process than sugaring. Because the sugaring hair removal paste doesn't stick to any live skin cells it means it is better for people with more sensitive skin or even those with skin complaints like eczema.

Basically, you take a suitable amount of the sugar and press it against the skin to be treated and then cover the sugar with a cloth or paper strip similar to what you'd use for waxing.

You then quickly remove the strip in the opposite direction of the hair growth in a similar fashion to a wax strip to remove the hair. You repeat the process until the unwanted hair is removed.

Sugaring is versatile enough to be good for all parts of the body, including legs, arms, back, face and bikini area. You can have it done at beauty salons that deal with hair removal techniques (although it is fairly obscure, it might be difficult to find someone who does it,) buy inexpensive kits that include everything you'll need (these usually use the paste form,) and also make your own sugaring mixture at home and apply it yourself, in either the gel or paste form.

Sugaring can be done quickly. Large amounts of hair can be removed at a time. It is faster than waxing. Waxing requires to be applied to a limited area first and it needs to be removed before working on other area. But sugaring has no such limitations. It can be applied to a large area at once.

Easy clean up - Sugaring is messy, but the paste is water soluble. So, it can be cleaned with plain water.
